The Mittman Family

The Mittman Family

I first interacted with this family for Liz + Sam's wedding back in 2014. Fast forward to 2016, and at 32 weeks pregnant, I photographed Carrie + Mike's nuptials. So imagine my immense pleasure when Carrie contacted me to photograph their family reunion as her sister, Naomi, would be back in the States on a break from missionary work in Romania and the rest of the extended family was getting together! Carrie's mom, Linda, is one of four siblings and there's even a great-grandchild in the mix too. We did just about every familial combination we could think of-enjoy!

Oh this sweet family! They haven't changed a bit over the last 4 years!

Linda & Siblings & Grandma Gladys:

Thank you so much for allowing me the pleasure of seeing and photographing your lovely family again! I know the importance of having four generations in one place personally and I hope these photos prove special to you for many years to come!

Blessings to ALL of you!
Carrie

This family has seen me through so many seasons! It's still hard for me to believe that Natalie was one of my first newborn sessions and I've had the privilege of photographing each of these sweet babies. Change is coming for Carrie Krupke Photography and this family is near and dear to my heart and my business-I'm so thankful for their support over the last 6 years!

It was an insanely bright, hot and humid morning, not to mention rife with bugs. And every bug seems to think Kelsey is a juicy target, so we made for a quick "sitting" pose and then ran for the hills....I mean trail. . .

Kelsey & Greg: Thank you so much for your loyalty and support. That means a lot but what's more-I appreciate and am so blessed by your friendship, parental example and teacher wisdom. Thank you just doesn't cover it, but I hope it feels like something.

Blessings,

Carrie

Lorelei: ONE Year

Lorelei: ONE Year

Whew! I feel like we're coming out of hibernation over here! A lot has transpired in our lives since the snow senior session in January and when I've done the work of processing it all, I'll let you know about that season of our lives. In the meantime, we've moved (!) and our former neighbors' daughter, Lorelei, turned One on St. Patrick's Day. So, we did a smash the cake session, which, really, turned into a "taste test" session and dry run for her party the following day. :) I'm sure she lived it up and Katie got to use the adorable cake twice! We used the lofted space in our new home with fantastic window lighting since it was a cold and dreary day outside. Seeing our results got me so excited for the future of this space!

We changed up Lorelei's look for a few as we prepared her to dive into her cake!

Let the Taste Test begin!

After we cleaned Lorelei off, we had her don the cutest in pink lace and ruffles:

Katie, Jeremy, Jericho and Lorelei: Thank you so much for entrusting this stage of Lo's life to me! She's darling and did so well-I hope she dug into her cake the next day! I look forward to watching your family grow even though we're not next door neighbors anymore. :( We'll see you on the soccer field with Jericho and Laidy--Go Team Blue!!
Blessings,

Carrie

Leah + Brian

When Colt came along, I had the pleasure of documenting dear Brian and Leah at their maternity session and Colt's newborn. When Hudson came along, I unfortunately had the flu and had to pass them to a great friend of mine. Now, here comes Grayson and I'm redeemed! ;) Leah & Brian were their calm, loving, gracious selves and were so well prepared for this session-complete with marshmallows for the boys if they smiled! Love it! And I love what we captured on this chilly morning:

The boys were on a roll, so we kept going with it and knocked out the whole family too. Then, the boys could go play while we focused on just Leah & Grayson:

Brian revisited us once the boys were settled into their play and I love what we captured!

Their living room window light is wonderful in the morning hours and Grayson was intrigued by the brightness:

Leah & Brian (& boys!): Thank you so much for having me out! I love capturing your family and can't believe there are now FIVE of you!!! Enjoy these images as I'm sure Grayson has already changed so much!

Hope you're sleeping a little bit more!

What a year! We pushed the limits of light: in-house light, bright light without shade, ice hockey rink light, auditorium and jazz club light with off-camera flash, bouncing light off reflectors, the list goes on and on... We challenged locations too: bedrooms, living rooms, studios, jazz clubs, inside the capitol, in water, in a RIVER. We celebrated new jobs, new babies, new homes, answers to health issues and healthy marriages.

These sessions represent victories in getting a stubborn child to smile (finally!), a child relaxing on her Mama's shoulder for comfort after a tough day, scheduling snafus, forgetting of camera gear to a session (that was me! ugh), getting off-camera flash to work, getting huge props borrowed and lined up for a session, getting a newborn to lay "just so" for the right shot, working the sunlight so that it was "just right". Challenges answered by victories that made me a better photographer, businesswoman and person.

I truly have the best clients on earth and I'm so thankful for the year that 2017 was for my business! This one's for you!!
