Gracie : Class of 2019

I am so glad to have met Gracie! She was the fortunate winner of the session that I donated to Norwalk's After Prom. What a fun and spunky spirit Gracie has! She requested mainly urban and architecture, so we started our time where my previous session had finished-at the river walk with a great view of downtown:

With an outfit change and a slight change of scenery...

I always try to go somewhere new or do something different, so we went through the parking structure nearest The Travelers sign and coincidentally, Gracie said that she and her friends sometimes hang out up here too:

Gracie: Thank you so much for spending time with me-I'm glad you won the session! Congratulations on your senior year and I hope you enjoy the time you have remaining in Norwalk's hallways!
Blessings,

Carrie

I still remember when Carson fit into a small gift-wrapped present under the Christmas tree and now he'll be a percussionist in 5th grade this fall! Through very strategic scheduling, we got this session squeaked in before we officially wrap things up for the school year with Carrie Krupke Photography and I'm so glad we did! The weather cooperated, Brecker and Carson were their awesome ninja-selves and we knocked this one out as a mini session:

We got a few quick of just Nick and Elaine before the boys realized they were missing out and wanted in on the photo-bombing action:

Nick + Elaine: Thank you so much for working within the confines of my tight schedule to make this shoot happen! It's been an honor watching Carson and Brecker grow up in front of my camera and a pleasure working alongside both of you in Norwalk!

Blessings,

Carrie

Christian : Class of 2019

When Lisa emailed me that it was time to take Christian's photos, I couldn't believe what I was reading. "Didn't I just photograph Zach?!" They could be twins, they look so alike and it appears that Christian will be blazing his own trail, but at the same college as Zach: Univ. of Iowa to study Business. As we made our way his second outfit of our shoot, I could totally picture him walking the halls of a Business School heading to class a year from now.

Our session was rained out, well, really, drowned out as the Des Moines metro area received 10 inches of rain in a matter of a few short hours the evening we had originally scheduled. When we met at our first location, the reservoir park was closed due to flooding, so we high tailed it to higher ground and made super harsh morning light work to our best advantage.

Next, we headed for some shaded neighborhoods that were still accessible despite floodwaters rising:

I've often used this little alley in Valley Junction, but this is the first time I've used it in morning light: a different challenge, but I still love our results!

Christian: Congratulations on your senior year! I know you're going to knock it outta the park this year and beyond. Enjoy every moment, have fun and say hi to Zach for me when you get to Univ. of Iowa!

All the best,

Carrie

Ellie : CAKE SMASH

I LOVE MY CLIENTS!! I would say the bulk of my clients become great friends and Jess + Ben are such as these. From their engagement, to their wedding day, to their maternity and newborn....Now, Ms. Ellie is ONE and Jess challenged me to become a better photographer and host a milk bath in my kitchen! I am way out of the loop on this trend and we worked our magic with Jess' sense of style and fun flair with the photographic knowledge I've got in my tool belt. We had a blast and Ellie did fantastic every step of the way! Enjoy!

We first had to pay homage to their love of the Cubs with Ellie fitting in her newborn onesie she wore home from the hospital!

Cake smash next!!

Next up after a cake smash? Time for a bath!!

Jess + Ben: Thank you for making me a better photographer, but more importantly, thanks for being such supportive and kind friends! I'm so excited to watch your family grow and change. Here's to future hugs at Lakewood as we bump into each other in the hallways, and GO CUBBIES!!

Blessings,

Carrie

Oh, how dear this family is to me! With children practically exactly our own childrens' ages, they've become a family that is "in the trenches" with us. I love Amanda's sense of style, encouragement, and Trevor and Gerard talk golf and Dad Jokes all the time. They also need to educate me on how to be a Boy Mom-poor Loch just got his first dinosaur figure for his second birthday! Help! #delayedresponse

Amanda's sense of great style bled into their family session when she suggested a new park for me to explore and I loved the textures and backdrops we made use of! Thanks friend!

As much as I loved the shiplap backdrop, we also needed to get the classic sitting in the grass poses and snuggles:

Definitely had to knock out a few of just Amanda and Trevor: it's been too long!

I remember doing a photo similar to the one just above when they were just a family of three anticipating Blaine's arrival. What a joy it's been to capture your family, you guys! Here's to many more times round the sun together!

Blessings,

Carrie
