Class of 2021 : Max

It takes a support system to pull off some crazy stunts sometimes! Case in point: Gerard brought a ladder from his choir room to the gym entryway, I received approval to use the gym, Max’s little sister held a flashlight so my camera could focus in the dark and Max was willing to do something different and climb up onto the hoop. I’d say, we started with the hardest part of the night and it paid off!

When your team wins the 3A State Championship just days before the world shuts down in March, you must document that part of your high school career in your senior photos. :)

Seeing Max in jeans and his jerseys, he still looked like a high school student to me. But when he stepped out of his car in suit pants and a button-up, I could totally picture him as a business major on some posh college campus! (And when I should’ve brought a step stool to be at his eye height, his little sister, Emily, scrounged around in the office furniture behind the bank and found a drawer that could hold my weight! Seriously, I need an assistant all the time! Emy, you were awesome!)

The golf course is definitely Max’s happy place. After we were done with the bulk of his session, he wanted to show us which hole he tends to for his job. I felt like a proud parent on Back to School Night. Max detailed the equipment he uses, the technique needed for the different levels of grass height and was pleased as punch to explain it all. He was more excited about the mowing technicals than climbing on the basketball hoop! I love watching what gets a student pumped up & learn something new along the way!

Max-I know you will do great things this year and beyond, no matter where you land! Your sense of humor, ability to laugh at yourself and responsibly get jobs done (on the golf course or on the basketball court) is setting you up for success anywhere. I’m so proud of you and your accomplishments thus far. My only regret? That we didn’t have a snare drum included on this session….;) You are an amazing young man and keep me posted on your plans-I want to celebrate and cheer you on from the sidelines!

All the best & Be Well,

Carrie
