Dave + Annette : A Family Reunion Session

This was a session 15 months in the works! Pandemic, you think you can keep family apart indefinitely. . . Not if my camera has anything to say about it! Colby is a former student who became a 2nd shooter for me at one particular wedding in Sioux City, Iowa and subsequently fell in love with that bride’s sister. Long story & distance relationship later, engagement followed and voila, I’m an accidental Match-Maker and Colby is now somewhat related to me! That bride was my Mom’s cousins’ daughter (confused yet?) so my 2nd cousin(?) married Colby :) We’ll just call her Jenny for ease.

I could not imagine two better families joining up together let alone getting them in front of my camera. Colby has a blossoming photo business of his own in the Chicago area (seriously, hit him up!) so it was fun and yet intimidating to be shooting this dear family. Either way, we knocked it out and their pup, Rory, may or may not have stolen the show a couple of times…Enjoy!

Families have silly things they do and we tried to recreate this wonky walk that they did at their last photo session with me (pre-Jenny). Hilarity ensued and that’s all I cared about to shoot!

Colby, Jenny, Annette, Dave, Katie-It was life giving to spend time with you. Thank you for listening, for your patience & love through these past several weeks. There is no pain like the loss of a parent and there is no love like the love of family carrying you through it.

Thank you for carrying me,

Carrie
