Nick + Elaine

Hard to imagine that the first time I photographed this family, Carson could fit in a small box under the Christmas tree and we’re now a mere 2 summers from his senior session! Next time, I need to remember to bring a step stool for Carson’s portraits! Nick & Elaine have been colleagues for many years and it’s been an honor to work alongside them - they always push me to be a better educator and to always do what’s in the best interest of students (even if it’s not the most convenient for us teachers). Brecker will be in the band room as a 6th grader this coming fall and I love that he’ll still snuggle up to Elaine for a photo. Being the second child myself, I can SO relate to wanting a hug from an older sibling and embarrassing that sibling in the process!

I know I’ve photographed this family for forever when we start to reenact poses from when the boys were itty bitty (see the second image in this scroll) :)

Photo tip: if your client has bright blue eyes, not only must they be in shade, but so must you to avoid their squinting and to keep them from being in pain!

This might be the last time we get Carson holding anyone’s hand! :) He was a good sport.

We always get one photo with Carson giving Brecker a ride and as an athlete than can stand to run a whopping 28 miles in one go, I’m sure he’ll be able to do this pose for years to come! I was so impressed when he told me that fact, I was speechless! Breaker is an accomplished Ninja Warrior himself - truly fun to watch these two succeed doing things they love!

I hope you all have a great summer and come back to the fall school year refreshed,

Carrie
