Ann + Jason = Nolan

Ann has floated through my life at various points in my teaching career. She was more Gerard's colleague in the vocal music department of our district and interacted more with him than me. From what Gerard tells me, Ann is a "go-getter" having received not just her BA and Master’s, but she’s also Nationally Certified which comes with a whole ‘nother barrel of hoops to jump through. (I don’t know if you can fit hoops in barrels but…) anyway…

I knew through Facebook that Ann was expecting a Little One. Then I saw that Nolan had arrived and about 10 days later, got a message from Ann for newborn photos. I think of all the hoops that Ann and Jason have jumped through (and the barrels they have jumped over), parenthood is a whole ‘nother obstacle course. From what I gathered during our newborn session last weekend, they’re making their way through just fine. Nolan was probably one of the most well behaved children I’ve ever photographed. At 2 weeks of age. Ann must have incredible classroom management skills that roll over into her home!
A side note: this is the first photo shoot that I got to use my new 90mm macro lens. She arrived in the mail on Thursday just in time for the weekend and boy do I love having her already!
I don't know what it is about this one's off-centeredness that I like, but for whatever reason, it stuck out to me:

This might be my favorite collage ever:

Ann and Jason--thank you so much for inviting me into your home for this Little One! He was such a trooper and did so well for what we wanted to do. I wish you all the best in the "hoops" of parenthood, may you gracefully bound over all the hurdles it may bring!
Blessings, Carrie
