Amanda + Trevor : Old Town Waukee Family Photo Shoot

You might recognize this sweet family from Amanda’s massive family reunion photo shoot celebrating her grandparents’ 60th anniversary. While that reunion happened in June, Amanda’s family session happened last week and I’m in the process of getting caught up. :) Amanda is always on the lookout for new places to try and I love that she gives me carte blanche to use the location however my eye sees it. I’m sure when she was scouting, she didn’t imagine we’d use this side of a particular run-down building, but I loved the whitewashed brick, climbing ivy and trees that created foreground, so we started here in Old Town Waukee!

Near the Learning Center, there is a sunken garden, some might call it an outdoor amphitheater. The light was perfect right here, so we took as much as we could in this spot before moving on. Baby Vaughn was a hoot, oldest Graham was quite stately and Blaine fit right in the in-between with his endearing smiles.

Trevor & Amanda like to find fun places for family ice cream outings so this shop in Old Town Waukee was perfect and she wanted to document their love of ice cream in the process. While it was a scorcher of a night, the ice cream cooled everyone off and the light went from perfect to divine for just the two of them!

Amanda + Trevor: Thank you so much for your trust, flexibility and friendship. What a joy & treasure to have your family in our lives and watch your boys grow up alongside Laidy & Loch. Enjoy the remainder of your summer and we’ll get together soon!

Best,

Carrie
