Katie + Phil

After being twice delayed for rain, and with their newly-scheduled session anticipating rain as well, I jumped on the only sunny day we had left in the next 10! Katie & Phil graciously rescheduled and we got it done! Phew! 

It's such a wonderful love story when a couple knows each other as friends first. For Katie + Phil, in the middle of their dating, Facebook reminded them that it was a 9 year friendship, and they realized, "What are we waiting for?" Shortly thereafter, Katie's finger was boasting some serious bling and they set a date for this June.

After serving alongside each other in the same Bible study group, Phil was going to observe Katie for the summer and prayerfully consider asking her out. But after serving with Phil on a church-wide community service project for an entire weekend, Katie beat him to the punch. Again, "Why wait?" 

Since it was the first time the sun had peeked out in over a week, any park we went to was crawling with families, photographers, joggers and bikers, so we did our best to find tucked-away places and spring blooms. 

We headed to the waaaaay back of Waterworks park and found this dreamy spot!

Sunset light by the river? Yes, please!

Katie + Phil: You guys are so wonderful!! I can't wait till your wedding day to see how everything comes together. Thank you so much for having me, for rescheduling so much and waiting for the right time to get the best shots!
