Tim + Jessica : A Jester Park Family Session

I made the choice this school year that I wouldn’t photograph an official photo shoot because I wanted to be an undistracted mom when I was home from teaching for the day. Of course, God challenges me on that personal boundary with a text from Jess. I called her back to let her know of my boundary, but that I’d give it a go on one condition: we go out to dinner with our families afterwards. You see, Jess went to high school with my husband and we hadn’t seen each other since her 40th birthday celebration weekend that her husband Tim had orchestrated a YEAR AGO.

Our original session date got rained out and I’m so glad it did! The following weekend was golden, punchy with fall color and just the right temperature outside. What a perfect evening for that evening glow at Jester Park!!

We used three different spots starting at the north end of Jester Park and used the light to our total advantage. The kids all did fabulously - the high schoolers were happy to oblige and the boys had just enough goofy time to give me smiles in the in-between. (I also loved that each of his siblings wanted a photo with just the Baby of the family, sweet Crew!)

When Jess had first talked to me about her ideas for the shoot, she was hoping for some evergreens. At the tail end of our time together, I spotted a locale I wanted to try, but on our way there, we saw the evergreens - eureka!
Mission accomplished.

Jess + Tim : Thank you SO much for trusting me with documenting this season in your lives - when ALL the kids do fantastically for family photos. What a sweet, sweet time! You are both wonderful humans that always leave me feeling encouraged and uplifted.

Thank you for who you are,

Carrie
