Nick + Elaine : A Downtown Des Moines Mini-Senior-Session

This blog has watched this family grow long before I even charged for my photographic work! I’ve had the privilege of working with Nick (for 17 years) and Elaine (for 8 years) in the Norwalk band program and photographing their family since Carson was a baby. This mini session came in the middle of Carson’s senior photo shoot downtown at the Krause Building and marks a change of seasons for this incredible family. Read on to find out why!

Every year that I have photographed this family and the boys were physically old enough to, we have always found a spot in our location for the boys to climb and hang from. And Carson has given Brecker a piggy-back ride. I posed the option to the boys this year and they looked at each other and looked at me while both shaking their heads “no”. The end of an era! Truly, an era. So, I looked over to Nick & Elaine to give the Era a moment of silence and Nick was already posed and ready for his shot with Elaine!

Oh, the fun compositions! I need to thank the architect of the Krause Building some day. And the landscaper - just lovely!

Nick + Elaine: I’ll let the boys have their ‘end of an era’ moment, but I won’t let this be the end of the era of photographing your family. This is just the beginning of a new season. :) SEVENTEEN YEARS! I shake my head in disbelief. Thank you. For trusting in me this long. For sticking with me as I learned and grew in my abilities and knowledge of the craft. It’s the best compliment you could ever give.

With a grateful heart,

Carrie
